The Keyboard sonata in G Major HobXVl:8 is one of Haydn's most famous works for keyboard music. lt was written around 1766 and is characterized by its freshness and lightness, typical of the keyboard music of the time. The work consists of tour movements: an allegro, a minuet, an andante, and a final allegro. The first movement, in an allegro tempo, opens with a lively and playful theme which alternates with a series of more delicate and suspended episodes. The second movement, in minuet time, is characterized by a sweet and cantabile melody that winds its way over a soft and delicate harmonic accompaniment. The third movement is a very singable and short andante that leads to a brilliant and amusing fourth and final movement: the latter has very interesting hints, which characterize Haydn's style and his era; lor example, the use of triplets and grace notes.

The Welsh composer Arwel Hughes (1909-88) played many different roles in what E.T.Davies – the first Director of Music at Bangor University – termed the ‘new musical awakening’ in Wales during the 20th century. The reason why I decided to make this album was to ask him about the natural sound source owned by UNAMAS Label for the treatment of my illness, tinnitus and (correctly, headache). The troublesome thing about this tinnitus symptom is that there is no such a cure. Consolations is Saskia Giorgini’s second Liszt album, after her critically-acclaimed rendition of the composer’s Harmonies poétiques et religieuses. Named after Liszt’s six Consolations, the album also contains the Caprices-Valses, Valse Impromptu, Légendes and the world-famous Liebesträume. These introspective pieces shed light on love in all its forms and manifestations, showing us human nature in all its different aspects, as well as a different side of Liszt’s colourful musical persona.
